The company was founded in 1962 and is headquartered in Rome, Italy.

Dividend Policy
Terna's dividend policy guarantees solid and substantial remuneration. The March 2025 update introduced a minimum level equal to the 2024 dividend for the entire duration of the 2024-28 Industrial Plan. The new policy establishes the distribution of a dividend equal to the larger of: the value of the 2024 Dividend Per Share (DPS; 39.62 euro cents per share - resulting in a 75% payout); or an annual increase of 4% in the dividend per share, taking 2023 (33.96 euro cents per share) as the reference year.
